Hi,

What we need is a food like item to provide the ability to repell ghosts.::woot::

It would be an obnoxious smelling item that would affect hide and invis effectiveness. ::whistle:: Why? You eat this item and the effects would be to make you 'invisible' to ghosts however because you would smell so bad, your invis and/or hide would not be as effective if they would work at all. The degree of effectiveness or not would be determined by the effective level of the person eating this food item. ::roll::

This item would be available through shoppies with the same prices as recall potions.
An additional condition would be the effectiveness is race-driven.
i.e. a gnome eat a ghost repellant item purchased from a dwarven shoppie might not work at all since it was baked/brewed/ created for a dwarf.::cool::

Wouldn't that liter the MUD with ghosts though? And especially high-level ghost which a low level might accidentally attack.

meh.. I suggested an eq fix for ghosts too, seems they don't think there is a ghost problem. I do though, too many of them.

This idea came about because of the ghost of a tiny mosquito, which I thought the most annoying thing imaginable. So I agree. There are too many ghosts. And too many tiny mosquitos too. And especially too many ghosts of tiny mosquitos. Makem go way!

Hi,

No, the Mud would not be littered with wandering lost ghosts. The effect of this food item would be temporary and once it wears off, the shost would be back to haunting you.

Probably to give you time to regain if it's a particularly nasty ghost of a MOB that took a big chunk out of your HP and mana to slay. I like the idea, but i don't think it's particularly needed. The last major ghost problem i had was trying to slay my own ghost. I whooped myself pretty good.

Hi,

The reason why invis and hide probably wont work is for the very simple reason that you smell like something dead ... and ghosts wont attack something that smells like they do or did .. depending on how old the ghost is. With that kind of stench, an invis or hide really wont work well if at all. As a matter of fact, people will avoid you and leave you alone, if for no other reason than to save their own sense of smell and their lunch! ::whistle::
