how about this command shows a listing of players with the most player killings? would be cool to give these people some merit maybe

I like this idea. That would be nice rather than having to guess via whois.

Its my understanding the current PK-rank shows the most active PKers currently. Why not add an additional command to show the most prolific pkers of all time instead of losing the ability to see who's currently on a roll?
Short version: Instead make a new rank for most pks.

Cumulative PK stats are stored within the player file, which is why they are only available when the player is online. I'm reluctant to raise the prominence of these stats, as they are easy to artificially inflate.

Also it sort of depends on what you mean by the best pk'ers.
Dating back too far I'm not sure, but I can tell you that Orpik's at the top of the list with 183. After that, there's guys like Malakost and Ink that are both around 110. Those guys also have a decent number of deaths (Malakost's lowest with 10, I think). But then you look at guys like Talyn and Tiberius who both have 80 kills; fewer kills, but Tiberius only died once and Talyn didn't die at all.
I'd almost prefer a list of best pkill to pdeath ratios or something like that.

Yeah, I have more kills than Orpik, but he's got better kills than me. It's not a great indicator.
Also, Orpik smells funny.

While this is a neat idea, its no true indicator of anything. Like a few have pointed out, its too easy to inflate. One person may have more kills than someone else, but who are they killing? Some people liked to do a lot of spars back in the day, or would kill someone to remove a ND, etc. This boosts the kills made. On the other hand some people die for various reasons. One of my favorites was the running naked to a group at TC and letting them kill you. Or how about suiciding to people over and over? Or even the running around naked trying to steal people's inventories. There are just too many variables and none of it proves anything.
PS Solaron is sexy.
