Alright... I keep talking about quest points. I havn't described it yet because I don't know exactly what it should be, I don't know everything they could be used for ... but I do have some ideas for getting them and some ideas for using them.... bottom line is, I need your help! Help me convince the implementors that this can work... Help me by responding, feedback is key to improvement.
Making this work would depend on coming up with the right reward system and prize costs.
Here are a few numbers I made up for the sake of posting an idea.
Completion of a location quest. + 1/4 quest point.
Since these can be done alone over and over again with little loss I have suggested a low number.
Completion of a round of mobhunt.
+1 quest point.
Since mobhunt is a group event that gets other players active, I have suggested a slightly high reward.
Winning mobhunt
Cumulative. 1/4 quest point times the number of people involved at the beginning of each round.
Completion of a mobmaster.
the reward would be the formula of,
mobmaster level divided by current effective level.
Winning an AMMQ
+ 1/2 quest point * the number of people involved.
Killing an Arch-mob
+ 1/2 possible quest point.
Maybe getting the death blow on a large arch mob could be + 1 ful l quest point.
Mobmarathon?
I made up my original numbers, I would suggest toning them back to maybe 1/2 point per a round completed, maybe 4 points for completing the whole marathon.
Quest points could also be awarded as immortals see fit for great acts of bravery, hospitality, and role play. Maybe a bard that gives an exception performance would receive a quest point...
There really are no limitations here, aside the amount of points that are rewarded and the cost to cash them in.
This would give immortals a great reward that could result in personalized creativity as opposed to just eq.
So what do we do with these quest points.
Build houses!
Fill our houses with furniture!
Limited ownership flagged quest only items?
-I don't know about this, I wanted to avoid eq gains but hey... maybe.
Item description flags! ... I am getting to this idea... I know i promised it months ago but I lost my list and got frustrated... I am in the process of rewriting it. Maybe all of the combinations that will be available could be listed at the quest master and a certain amount of points could be cashed in to customize your own description flag.... within the stipulations of what the list offers of course.
cold ones... cash in some quest points for some cold ones? I dunno ... we don't want anyone having too many of these, they might hang out in my hometown!
I could use some more ideas on this, please respond with some feedback.
