    Default New Ranger skill: Hunt

    ok, this one's pretty strait forward. Rangers have track already because they're hunters, but as hunters shouldn't they have a better idea than most where to find a given mob?

    I'm thinking this skill should be higher level, like 25, and should work something like traveling troubadour does for bards.

    >Hunt <mob name>

    e.g.

    >Hunt "Spotted Pelican"
    >
    > You feel drawn towards cannibal island.

    failure would yeild nothing, while catastrophic failure would yeild a false lead.

    I realize that this would give rangers an advantage for both mobmasteries and mobhunts, but they SHOULD have an advantage in these areas since they are hunters.

    certain mobs should be obscured, (such as Nevyn,) and i'm not sure if it would be appropriate to have this work on PCs, but it should work on animals at the very least.

    I favor players learning where mobs are by exploring the world.

    ok, well then, how about this skill would tell the ranger what zone a PC is in?

    thieves and thugs can do this sometimes now, (Info2,) but since the ranger is supposed to be a master of the hunt (or at least more so than theives) they should have a better chance of doing this than the theives class. how about giving the ranger this partial ability at a lower level~like skill level 9, and possibly excluding zone from info2?

    i think rangers do need more. by choosing ranger over warrior they lose both the big metal and enhanced damage, which is a huge concession for the moderate gain of two weapons and butcher i think this would help to balance the scales.

    Giving rangers this skill would be like giving a recovered alcoholic a bunch of liquor. I would be forced to make a ranger and pk you all repeatedly.

    Please don't let me fall off the wagon.
