Thread: bounty hunters need looking at

  1. Default bounty hunters need looking at

so tonight i spent well over 250k on a few bounty hunters just too see then sigh and say my prey is gone
all because the person was hiding. They should continue chasing when that person is visable i mean i did pay the bounty 7 times that should give them more then enough motivation to go carry out there task not just just take my money and sit there staring at me.

I agree, bounty hunters should at least be able to track or "get tips" from mobs as to the whereabouts of their target.

I also think Bounty Hunters should not be deterred by the target killing themselves. The bounty hunter could keep hunting until one of them (If multiple hunters are going after one target) kills the target. Would also be nice if the hunters would continue to hunt after a reboot. Though this may be more problematic to code.

yeah I agree they should continue to hunt once they can see a target again, be it after they stop hiding or some out of darkness
I dunno about after reboot though, geez, next thing you know they'll be coming to my house IRL and ordering me to surrender or die

If that happens just hide under a chair and they will leave.

I think it would be much more fun if bounty hunters forced more surrendering and less dying, especially if they were not discouraged by suicide or PC visibility issues - like maybe given a sufficient number of hunters finding their target, they would drag him out of safe and off to prison for awhile.

After all, hunters are really the only recourse outmatched victims have against serial killing aggressors. If the killer's bounty is cheap, I would pay to keep them in prison as long as possible while I entertain myself elsewhere .

    ::sarcastic::

oh yeah, that's be great, a newbie gets carried downstream to the ocean his first time and ends up with the tempest chasing him for the rest of his incarnation.

sorry, must disagree with all hunters continuing indefinitely, ALTHOUGH--it would make sense if the hunter continued to hunt as a function of the level of the mob, and i do agree that the bounty hunter should be a special exception to the normal hunter rules.

but then again, i'm writing here to give that mob chasing me time to cool down and give up.

The bounty hunter should have track at the very least, as well as detect invis and detect hidden, Especially since most characters over level 20 seem to prefer to play unseen.

Just out of curiosity, would all bounty hunters stop chasing upon the target being killed/caught by one of them? Including if the hunters were sent by different people?

I agree hunters should probably be a bit tougher to avoid, though. I mean seriously, Boba Fett caught Han Solo *AND* survived being eaten by a Sarlaac. Now THAT'S a bounty hunter.

Whistler, nobody is talking about changing the code when mobs are hunting you like the tempest. We're just talking about changing bounty hunters, who actually hunt worse then most other mobs.

Speaking from the perspective of someone who just recently got killed by a bounty hunter. I personally think they should offer me a smoke before they strike.

No seriously, I think those things are fine the way they are. They do not give you enough time to surrender anyway before they start hitting you (I agree with Tottie). I can also agree that killing self should not stop them completely. I disagree with the reboot idea just on principle.

*chuckle* Faile, I'm not sure these bounty hunters can behave in the same way Doug can. Bribe woman, bribe.

Bounty hunters, if you can avoid their initial "hello", are fairly simple to get to stop chasing you by using hide and darkness. If this is intended, all is well code wise. If it is not - then I agree with KindredBlade, the code should be looked at for possible buggy-ness.

Buggy code. That's just crazy talk.

    Er, for possible unanticipated features?
