Thread: Fun EQ idea

    Default Fun EQ idea

Since EQ changes hands quickly in TFC I was thinking it would be neat to see where a piece of gear originated and what players have had it since it popped. Maybe a history array on items so when you are given / taken / stolen it would add the player who got the item and when. Thoughts?

I imagine the storage table to support this feature would grow pretty fast, even with the relatively small active population.

I do think it would be an interesting record to keep, particularly for restrings.

I've been thinking about new bard perfomances, and this could work well with the classical 'Legend Lore' ability.

    sytax
    perform 'legend lore' <item>

success would reveal the items history to the performing bard.

Was just checking version notes, was this implemented? How can you see where an item originated?

god+ will be able to see who originally found a given item via ostat. This will only work for items found after the new version goes in.

The primary motivation for keeping track of the "first finder" was for scavenger hunts, but it may be useful in other contexts, as well.
