Connecting zones and global development....
I feel we need more connecting zones for SC. Trails, paths...there are lots and lots of dead ends (which are marvelous places for future zones, but I'll talk about that later), but very little for 'loops' in the trails. To get from, say, Skulltop to Kuroth, you either have to vortex, walk all the way north, east, and then south back down the river (or along the coast to the river). Meanwhile, from Harper's to MG, you have 3 distinct trails you can use.
It's not that SC doesn't have loops to the trails AT ALL, but there's one massive one, and several very tight circles. A couple more trails here and there would also lead to lots of places to toss new zones as people write them and think of them.
Also, me and Kylor have both talked about the 'borders' of the map before. Most people seem to be focusing on placing zones into the game that 'extend' the map outward...but there is a VAST amount of undeveloped space on the existing map to work with.
A specific example is the section of map in SC between The Tiber, and Stillwater. Cill is near the coast, tucked into the NW corner of this expanse. There are two dead-end trails (which rather look like there is supposed to be a zone between them that either never got implemented, or never got finished, or maybe never even got a concept, just a 'something goes here someday'). Likewise, there are huge expanses on the edges of NC WELL within current map borders that are undeveloped and unused.
I'm sure there are zones in the works for some of those locations...but this is something to keep in mind. If you add to the edges, you add to the 'dead ends', which, while GREAT for xping with alarms up, is one of the reasons pk is down so much.
Likewise, this is a point for PKers to build an area. If you build an excellent xp zone, people will use it. If you have multiple entrances, you have more opportunities to sneak in on them. If you build it, they will grind in it. If they grind in it, you can kill them. Look at Molotov. It's not only a GREAT pk-zone, but it's one of the best xp zones the game has...though it sees little use because it's so hard to alarm nobody ever uses it (That's alright. More xp for me on the first run through because nobody has killed the mobs. Suits me just fine.)
