Giants have an innate ability to see magical items. Now, this is an interesting idea. However, the way it's implemented now, it's rather a hindrance than an actual benefit. I've levelled up a character quite a bit and he still can't see the different between weak magic and moderate magic (let alone potent, powerful, and artifact). I have also checked with a 30/30 warrior/shaman who can't even see Powerful or Artifact Magic! My non-Giant shaman just casts detect magic (without pump) and CAN see these magical flags. This makes no sense to me. The only way to get around this, is wearing a TS amulet (casting detect magic has no effect, as you already have this on you)! In other words: having the ability to see magic as a Giant is really a disadvantage that you'd rather not have.
I still think it's an interesting concept, but the power should really be increased for it not to be a hindrance. I say: able to see weak magic at effective level 6, moderate magic at eff. level 7, potent at eff. level 8, powerful at eff. level 9, and artifact at eff. level 10.
