charm person

ok i don't know where to go with this....

Charm person is not very useful to mages anymore, .... because it only lasts 2-3 tics tops. Im not sure if it was ever used very much anyway, and i do realise the reduction in the duration of charm person was to make it more tolerable when fighting arch mage mobs..... although I kinda wish charm person lasted more like 5 tics

Because then it would be useful, to me.

maybe i should revise this since i don't know how good charm person was before changhes wee made... my charm is lasting 3 to possibly 4 tics..... i guess its alright since charm is so powerful, i would just like to see it last longer.

Interesting point.

I was indeed only thinking about mob casting. I could probably upgrade duration for PCs.

I think extending the duration of charm when cast by pcs would be a good thing. It isn't an extreamly powerful spell, even with the longer duration. I personally use it more just for amusement than for something 'beneficial', it is a little annoying to have to go get your charmies back twice as fast.

Not sure what you mean by that, but charm person doesn't work on PCs when cast by a PC.

really? seems kinda pointless to have then if mages can only use it against NPC's. though just to let ppl know, i have never leveled a mage beyond level 8 or so and have never had the opportunity to use charm or want to since at that low a level there are other skill's i'd rather be practicing.

If charm had a useful durration I can think of plenty of situations where i wouldn't mind having the assistance. ... especially being only lvl 30.... and often needing to kill mobs that are larger then me.
