    Default Ridiculously Awesome Ideas

    My favorite thing about ideas is that they are contagious. And one thought, one idea can transform into 100 different ideas. One stupid idea can spark 10 good ones.

    So with this thread I invite you to share your strange and stupid ideas.

    Advanced practice.

    The Guildmaster says, "I have trained you all I am able to, seek out Sven the Wandering Cleric for further education"

    cost: 2-5 practices + 10-50k gold.
    What it gets you: higher level spells, second tier spells

    Dispel Neutral/Protection from Neutral

    Rain Down fury and wrath upon those who sit on the fence.

    The Right to Pray and Sac to any God you choose

    Pray:To me it feels strange to tell something to a god. I should be able to pray to any god visible to me. Pray without a name should default to the worshipped god.

    Sac:Sacrificing to another god might sound strange. But to honor another god could perhaps sway their favor. Maybe enough corpses could bring you protection against even their own followers. Conversly, with enough gods on your side; combat could be easier for you.

    I like the idea of being able to practice a skill further than what your allowed at the guild in your home town. What if you could potentially practice a skill or spell at a guild in a different town for different results?

    I'm not convinced this is necessary nor desirable. I'm also not crazy about it from a philosophical standpoint.

    To me, pray and sacrifice tie into the commitment you made to your own god. On the other hand, I kind of see your point about tell. Heh.

    I'm not necessarily advocating anything..just spitting out things that popped in my head.

    New skills and spells are always attractive.
    But, my primary thought was to enhance the current spell.

    i.e. if regular Armor gives you -15ac then Advanced armor gives you -25ac

    I also thought about prequisite spells giving you access to new spells.

    current spell 1(impressive) + current spell 2(impressive) = availability to practice new spell 1

    Just wondering what you had in mind.

    And, thanks for clarifying. I see now that you're talking about enhancing the spell abilities, based on additional training. I understand a little better.

    It's an intriguing idea.

    Default Combo spells

    I still think we should have combo effects of spells ie:

    If blind then you rely on hearing more, so thunderclap should do 1.5 or 2x the dmg

    If deaf, then lightning bolt which blinds you should do more dmg

    If poisoned then disease should be more likely to land, weakness should have a larger effect

    If faerie fire'd then fireball, burning hands, etc should have more of an effect

    If flying then hurricane should have more of an effect

    If sleeping, resting, then earthquake should have more of an effect

    etc etc

    I like where orpik is going here... kinda like how you can't color spray in darkness, and you get shocked bolting underwater...... just an extension.
