Aha....I need to change my vote from 'surfing the net' to referral from Prime Net..........as that was my service provider way back then.......not sure what year but I do remember that Cerebus was my first FLI.

I've made maybe 40 characters.....stopped playing for up to a year or more at a time.....and KEEP coming back!!! DOH!! I don't play Odmar cuz his stats are so bad......but I use him to monitor the forums.....where stats don't matter!

I was trying to find a game that a friend at school was playing - he actually played Nanny Mud. I couldn't remember the name of it, so I just searched on webcrawler for mud game... TFC was the 3rd or 4th link I found and it looked cool, so I tried it. This was back in '95.

My parents saw me playing, tried it, and would ground me from the PC from time to time so they could play. They were Humble and Faille.

I also showed it to some friends who lived nearby and went to my church - Orpik, Dundrave and the like - and they've got even more to play.

I also met my wife here, as we all know... kinda crazy to think how different life would be if I hadn't forgotten the name of the mud my friend had played and clicked a different link instead.

That's a wonderful story, Sol. And suddenly, the names Humble and Faille will be the funniest ever. This is why I love TFC. *hugs*

That miserable little candy dispenser, Pez, told me about it. He says he invented it, but I have my doubts.

Bringing a dead thread back from the grave, I started playing TFC in 1999 with Belsambar and Skie at our local Library. We used to sign in with fake names to extend our hour limits, I regularly used the name Jim-Bob and Cletus. I distinctly remember being interested in the shaman class and then called every moth I saw a Yytany moth when I hung out with Skie, Watts and Draven. We would often spend the night at Watt's house (the only one who had cable internet) and take turns playing TFC. Skie would usually play all night and into the late AM, much to our annoyance; the rest of us would play Smash Brothers on the N64 (to put the time frame into perspective haha). Great times.
